Kim Baker

Ms. Kim Baker earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, Language Arts from the University of South Alabama and went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Dyslexia Therapy at William Carey University. For the past nine years, she has served Bright Academy as a dedicated Language Arts Teacher and Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).

Ms. Kim is extensively trained in evidence-based literacy instruction, including Neuhaus’ Language Enrichment and Reading Readiness curricula, as well as The Writing Revolution. She is a passionate advocate for the Science of Reading and frequently leads professional development workshops, equipping fellow educators with effective classroom strategies to support struggling readers.

In addition to her teaching and therapy roles, Ms. Kim currently serves as Dean of Academics at Bright Academy. She is an active member of the International Dyslexia Association and was honored in 2025 with the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award for her outstanding commitment to education.

Ms. Kim brings expertise, leadership, and a deep dedication to empowering students and educators alike.
