Admissions

Admissions Process

Bright Academy welcomes and admits qualified students regardless of race, creed, color, ethnic identity, or place of origin. We are committed to serving bright, high-potential students who learn differently and benefit from a supportive, specialized educational environment.

Our program is specifically designed for students whose primary diagnosis is dyslexia. We focus on helping students with average to above-average intellectual abilities who experience unexpected difficulties in reading and language-related skills.

While we support a variety of learning needs, Bright Academy does not admit students whose primary challenges stem from:

  • Behavioral difficulties

  • Severe attention disorders

  • Significant receptive or expressive language disorders

  • Below-average intellectual functioning

Our admissions process includes a review of psychoeducational testing, academic records, and interviews to ensure our program is the right fit for each child. This helps us maintain a learning environment where every student can thrive.

If you're interested in learning more, please contact us to discuss your child’s learning profile and begin the admissions process. We’re here to help you navigate every step.

  • Parents are encouraged to contact Bright Academy to request more information and begin the admissions conversation. During this initial inquiry, we will ask questions regarding your child’s academic history and request any recent evaluations conducted by a qualified diagnostician.

To help determine if our program is the right fit, we also offer a free dyslexia screening. If your child meets the criteria for our specialized program, we will guide you through each step of the admissions process with care and support.

We are here to answer your questions and help you explore whether Bright Academy is the right place for your child to learn, grow, and thrive.

  • We invite you to contact us to schedule a personal tour of Bright Academy. During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to see our classrooms in action, meet members of our staff, and learn more about our specialized approach to dyslexia education.

At the time of your tour, a Parent Interview will also be scheduled for a later date. This interview allows us to better understand your child’s educational needs and ensure that Bright Academy is the right fit for your family.

We look forward to welcoming you to our campus!

  • To begin the enrollment process, please complete the Admissions Application and return it to the school along with the required documentation. This includes:

    • Current report cards

    • A sample of classroom work from the teacher (if applicable)

    • Discipline and Attendance Records (if applicable)

    • A Psychometrical Evaluation or testing results through Bright Academy

    • An IEP or 504 Plan (if applicable)

Once received, we will carefully review the submitted documentation to determine whether Bright Academy is the best fit for your child’s educational needs.

  • Admission to Bright Academy is based on a comprehensive review of diagnostic testing, teacher recommendations, parent interviews, and an observation of the student’s behavior and academic performance through a scheduled shadowing day at Bright Academy. Once all documentation has been reviewed, parents will be notified of their child’s admission status either by phone or in writing.

If it is determined that our program is not the best fit for your child’s needs, we will make every effort to guide your family toward a more suitable educational placement.

Upon acceptance, families are required to pay a one-time New Family Enrollment Fee of $200, along with all other applicable registration and supply fees. This payment secures the student’s place in the program.

  • Students who have been accepted but placed on the waiting list may be enrolled as space becomes available in the program. To secure a spot on the wait list, families are required to submit a $25.00 wait list fee.

We will contact families in the order received as openings occur.

  • Enrollment is considered complete once the signed application and all required fees (Registration and Supply) have been submitted to the school. Only then will your child’s place in the program be officially secured.
